東京の様々なエリアを巡りながら、“海外に（も）ルーツをもつ人たち”と「まちの映画」をつくるプロジェクト「KINOミーティング」が、はじめての上映会を行います。今回上映するのは2種類の作品「シネマポートレイト」と「ニュー・トーキョー・ツアー」。ゲストに詩人の管啓次郎さんを迎え、作品やプロジェクトについての理解を深めるトークも実施します。
KINO Meeting, a project to create “films of the city” with people who (also) have backgrounds overseas while touring various areas of Tokyo, will hold its first screening event. Two works, “Cinema Portrait” and “New Tokyo Tour,” will be screened. The event will also invite Keijiro Suga, who will be giving a talk to enrich our experience of understanding the film.

◎#3 北区 「シネマポートレイト」
「シネマポートレイト」は、10枚の写真と2分程度の音声からなるシンプルな作品です。KINOミーティングが主催するワークショップを通じて制作されます。ワークショップ参加者は「海外に（も）ルーツをもつ」人たち。チームでまちを歩きながら、自らの個人的なエピソードを語り、そして相手の話を聞きながら、作品をつくります。
今回は、5/19,20に実施するワークショップ「KINOミーティング#3 北区」で制作される作品を上映します。

◎映画「ニュー・トーキョー・ツアー」
仕事を無くし、恋人とも別れ、このまちに住む意味を見失いかけているリー。ある日、そのまちに来たばかりのトシキとの偶然の出会いから、リーはトシキの観光ツアーに巻き込まれていく。映画をつくったメンバー自身のルーツや、暮らしのなかでのエピソードから生まれた物語は、全くのフィクションではない、あなたが住むまちにいる誰かの暮らしかもしれない。
＊KINOミーティングの前身プロジェクト「Multicultural Film Making ルーツが異なる他者と映画をつくる」（MFM）で生まれた映画です。

【トークゲスト】
管啓次郎（すが・けいじろう）
詩人、明治大学理工学部教授
比較文学研究者としてカリブ海のフランス語文学、チカーノ（メキシコ系アメリカ人）文学などを研究しつつ、『コロンブスの犬』にはじまる批判的旅行記や批評文を発表してきた。『斜線の旅』で読売文学賞受賞。2010年の最初の詩集『Agend’Ars』以来、8冊の詩集を刊行し、20か国以上の詩祭・大学で招待朗読を行っている。明治大学では理工学研究科に「総合芸術系」を設立。文芸創作や批評理論を教える。

- #3 Kita-ku “Cinema Portrait”
Cinema Portrait" is a simple film consisting of 10 photographs and 2 minutes of audio, created within KINO Meeting workshops, with its people with those who (also) have backgrounds overseas. The participants will walk around the city as a team, telling their own personal episodes and listening to the stories of others to create a work together.For this event, we will screen a work produced during the workshop “KINO Meeting #3 Kita-ku” which is to be held on May 19 and 20.

- Film “New Tokyo Tour”
Lee just lost her job, separated from her partner, and is on the verge of losing sight of the meaning of living in her city. Then one day, a chance encounter with Du Shiqi, who just arrived at the city, leads Lee to become involved in Du Shiqi’'s sightseeing tour. The story, born from the backgrounds of each member who made the film and their daily experiences, may not be completely fiction, but the actual life of someone in the city you live.
*This film was created during the predecessor event to KINO Meeting, “Multicultural Film Making (MFM) -Creating a film together with people from different backgrounds”.

[Guest Talk]
Keijiro Suga
Poet/Professor, School of Science and Technology, Meiji University
As a scholar of comparative literature, Suga has studied Caribbean French literature and Chicano (Mexican-American) literature, while publishing critical travelogues and reviews such as “Columbus' Dog”, and was awarded the Yomiuri Prize for Literature for the essay “Transversal Journeys”. Beginning with the collection of poems “Agend'Ars” published in 2010, Suga has published eight books of poetry and given invited readings at poetry festivals and universities in more than 20 countries. At Meiji University, Suga established the “Places, Art, Consciousness” Architecture and Urbanism Program in the Graduate School of Science and Technology, teaching literary creation and critical theory.
